Econfina River

This trail is a public-spirited effort of the Foley Land and Timber Company in cooperation with the Florida Trail Association. The forestry practices are visible along the trail. The Econfina River flows diagonally across the section. Deer, turkey, and other wildlife may be observed on occasion. Private hunt clubs lease the land for hunting.

FLORIDA FORESTRY FESTIVAL
Each year in late October, the Florida forestry industry celebrates its good fortunes with this gala festival at Perry in Taylor County. A parade, a giant fish fry, an awards banquet, and a crafts exposition attract nearly 50,000 people to this Big Bend city's festival every year. Hikers are welcome to attend.

Location: The trail is in Taylor and Madison counties on forest roads of the Foley Land and Timber Company. The west terminus is on CR 14 about nine miles south of Lamont. The east terminus is in Madison County, south of the town of Madison and CR 360.
